With more than a decade of nursing experience, Rexiena Mapp brings her skills as a family nurse practitioner to Aletha’s Legacy where she will serve as our Chief Medical Officer. Evidence-based practice guidelines, clinical experience, personal observation, and a keen sense of intuition make Rexiena a strong addition to the Liberia-based team. Trained in the United States, she attended Oakland University for her B.S. in nursing and University of Detroit Mercy for her M.S. in family nurse practitioner. While in the U.S. she gained experience in several areas to include intermediate intensive care, surgical intensive care, nursing support services, telemetry unit, clinical resources unit, and nurse practitioner. Upon relocation to Liberia in March 2020, Rexiena worked as the nurse supervisor for the Ministry of Health in Monrovia where she focused on community engagement surrounding education and quarantine for the COVID-19 pandemic. Presently she is the Director of Client Services for the Center of Healthcare, Research, and Innovation where one of the main focuses is supervising nurses in the C.H.E.R.I. School Health Program.
